Abstract:Diplazium × kidoi Sa.Kurata is a natural hybrid species between D. wichurae (Mett.) Diels and D. pinfaense Ching, which was only known in Japan. Two populations of the hybrid from China are reported for the first time in this paper, and detailed morphological comparison to its parents is also provided. The discovery of D.× kidoi in China will be helpful to understand the allopatric speciation of hybrids and cognize the common phenomenon of hybridization along with speciation of ferns.
