Schkuhria, a newly naturalized genus of Asteraceae in China

  • Schkuhria Roth and Schkuhria pinnata (Lam.) Kuntze ex Thell. are reported as a newly naturalized genus and species of Asteraceae from Shandong, China. The main morphological characteristics of the species include leaves pinnatisect, lobes filamentous; involucre narrowly obovate; ray floret 1-2 or absent, female; disk floret 4-8, hermaphroditic; achene obpyramidal, 4-angled, pappus scales usually 8. A color plate is provided below. The distribution of the genus and application value and invasive risk of Schkuhria pinnata are also discussed briefly.
